This policy applies specifically to Note.ly for Android, provided by Suzhou Zhiqiao Information Technology Co., Ltd. The Android application ID is journal.digitalplannner.note.ly. It describes this product’s data handling; other apps and platform editions have their own policies.
1. Your notes and device permissions
Note.ly stores the notes, notebooks, tasks, calendar entries, drawings, tags, images, attachments, audio notes and settings that you create or import. Editing, searching and recording take place on your device. The microphone is used when you record an audio note. File and media access lets you attach or import the content you select; notification and alarm access supports reminders.
Widgets and shortcuts may display the note or task information you configure on device surfaces. Exporting a note, PDF, image or other file sends the selected content to the app or recipient you choose. Copies outside Note.ly are controlled by their destination.
2. Optional Google Drive connection
If you connect a Google account and request synchronization, Note.ly transfers supported notes, notebooks, tasks, categories, calendar-related data and associated files, including images, attachments and audio, between your devices and Google Drive. You may also enable automatic synchronization. Google sign-in provides account identifiers, email, display name and profile picture for the account shown in the app.
Google authorization is used for this feature. The app uses the hidden application-data area of your own Google Drive, rather than requesting access to all your Drive files. Authorization credentials allow the requested transfer. We do not use Google user data for advertising.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access through Google Account connections. Cloud copies must be removed separately through the app’s available backup controls or Google Drive’s app-management controls; revoking access or uninstalling does not delete them.
3. Note lock and recovery email
The note lock is a local access-control feature. It does not encrypt the note body or protect copies that you export. PIN or pattern verification, security-answer verification and system biometric authentication are handled on your device. Note.ly does not receive your fingerprint data.
If you add a recovery email, the Note.ly recovery service hosted on Cloudflare processes the email address, an installation-specific identifier and security credentials, verification challenges and limited abuse-prevention records. It sends verification emails and lets you recover the lock on that installation. Note text, audio, your PIN or pattern, and security answers are not sent to this service. The email binding remains until you explicitly remove it; turning off the lock temporarily is different from removing the binding. Local lock credentials and the recovery binding are separate from Google Drive synchronization. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
4. Downloads and support
When you download public templates, backgrounds, stickers or fonts, the hosting service receives the resource request and ordinary connection information such as IP address. These downloads do not require sending your private note content.
If you choose to send feedback or attach a diagnostic export, we receive the message, contact details and files you send. Review attachments before sharing them.
5. Diagnostics, advertising and purchases
Firebase Analytics processes app interactions and technical information to help us understand use of this product. Firebase Crashlytics processes crash reports, installation identifiers and app/device information to diagnose failures. Firebase Cloud Messaging uses an installation identifier and delivery token for app notifications. Firebase Remote Config supplies app configuration. See Firebase privacy information.
The ad-supported edition uses Google Mobile Ads and Meta Audience Network. Advertising services may process IP-derived general location, identifiers, interactions and diagnostics for ads, measurement and fraud prevention. Where applicable, the app provides Google consent and advertising privacy choices. Android’s advertising settings also let you manage the advertising identifier. Advertising choices do not by themselves delete app content or control every diagnostic service.
Google Play Billing handles purchases and subscriptions. The app processes purchase status and tokens to activate, verify or restore paid access. Google handles payment details; we do not receive raw payment-card details. See the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Keeping and deleting your information
You can delete notes and other saved items in the app. Drive synchronization can propagate supported deletions when enabled. Manage cloud copies separately if you stop using synchronization; merely signing out or uninstalling is not a cloud-deletion request. Remove a recovery-email binding through its settings before clearing the installation if you want to stop that recovery service.
Exported files and attachments already sent to other apps remain there until you delete them. Local Android backup settings may also affect whether app data is backed up by the operating system.
7. Your choices, security and privacy rights
You can manage device permissions in system settings and choose which optional connections or exports to use. A denied permission may make its related feature unavailable. Data sent to service providers may be processed outside your country. We use reasonable safeguards for information we control; no storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information as needed to provide the features above, follow your instructions, comply with law, protect rights or handle a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. Information we control is kept only for the purposes described here and applicable legal obligations. Provider-controlled records follow that provider’s retention and deletion processes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of your personal information. Contact us for requests about data we control. We cannot directly remove files in your personal cloud account or copies held by a recipient.
8. Children and policy updates
This product is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can address it. We may update this policy as the product changes and will show the revised date on this page.
